Did Hershey's Kisses get their name because the machine that makes them looks like it is kissing the conveyor belt?

The Hershey Food website says that they're not sure how they got their name but a popular theory is that it came from the sound or motion of the chocolate being deposited during the manufacturing process. The kisses have been around since 1907.
