    Is it possible for a woman to have twins that are born a few months apart?

    It is as it was on a recent TV programme, and can happen naturally. You'll have to wait till someone can find the official explanation but I think the answer is basically yes.

    Yes, it has been known to happen for several different reasons. Here is one story:

    Not too long ago, I read of a woman pregnant with twins who went into premature labor. Doctors were not able to prevent the birth of one twin, but they did manage to stop labor before the second infant was born and to keep the mother from going into labor again until the gestation period was further advanced.
