All scripts are "automated" as far as I have been taught.
Another term for macro or batch file, a script is a list of commands that can be executed without user interaction. A script language is a simple programming language with which you can write scripts.

Is there any way to control them?

To control a script you must change the parameters. The execution instructions.
To find out how to do this to any particular script you have three choices.
1. Go to school and learn (seriously)
2. Find a "geek" forum on the net and inquire.(IT chat room)
3. Pay someone to do it.
It is a fairly easy process. Just a few words and punctuation marks changed will do it. The question is....Which ones!?!
Check out this list of MS/DOS Batch script commands.
