This country's national anthem was once described in a certain 19th century book of 'memoirs' that it was written by someone else and stolen by a famous composer. Which anthem is it, who apparently stole it, and what is facinating about the 'memoirs'?

"God Save the Queen," the British national anthem, purported to be written by Lully in 'Souvenirs de la Marquise de Créquy', that were in fact written by Maurice Cousin de Courchamps, not Marquise de Créquy'.

Well, yes, it is "God Save The Queen", as it was outlandishly published in the 19th-century forgery, the 'Souvenirs of the Marquise de Créquy'. Suggested to be written by Lully for Louis XIV to celebrate a royal fistula healing, then pirated by Handel.
