Aqua is the Latin word for water, and on many products like scents and shampoos the word is used for international understanding. So they say. It's confusing a lot of people here in the UK. On food products, the local word for water is used, and no-one seems confused.

Water (in its pure form) is a tasteless, odorless substance that is essential to all known forms of life and is known also as the universal solvent. It appears colorless to the naked eye in small quantities, though it can be seen to be blue in large quantities or with scientific instruments.

I'm not sure what you meant to ask here. Are you talking about in list of ingredients on products? If you would, rephrase the question, and I'll change it at the top.
