    What was Shakespeare's bloodiest play?

    If "Enter the empress' sons with Lavinia, her hands cut off, and her tongue cut out, and ravished." (Act II, scene IV) is anything to go by, I'd say 'Titus Andronicus' would be the one.

    Looks like Shakespeare had a bit of a pattern going.

    "Macbeth" may be Shakespeare's bloodiest play, but "Titus Andronicus" is by far the most brutal and gruesome.
