Some of the hard working canines in CBP. See the fuzzy faces behind the sniffers that snuff out the flow of narcotics, illegal currency, smuggled agriculture products and combat terrorist threats on a daily basis.

The pictures are mostly Labs and Shepherds.

CBP uses mainly labs and shepherds, but USBP uses shepherds and another "european" breed. (Not a common breed but really good at what they do.)

I have some land down in El Paso and everytime we are down there and get stopped on the U.S. side of the border, it is a German Shepherd that we meet up with.

I know of at least one incident where a beagle was used.

German Shepherds are known to be police hounds used for locating narcotics in buildings, busses (cars, etc.), and bags. I have heard of other dogs being used such as beagles and bloodhounds.
