Who has J.K. Rowling confirmed as "really" dead? (More than one character as an answer is okay.)

Sirius Black (c. 1958-June 1996) was first mentioned briefly in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone as a wizard who lent Hagrid a flying motorcycle shortly after Lord Voldemort killed James and Lily Potter.
James Potter and Lily Potter (née Evans) are fictional characters of the Harry Potter series. They are the late parents of Harry Potter.

Sirius Black fell through a curtain and disappeared. Harry was told that he was dead, but it is not clear that he is.
Harry's parents appear to have been killed by Lord Voldemort, but this is not absolutely certain. Most fans think that Harry's mother did in fact die, but they are not so sure about Harry's father, James Potter.
It seems fairly clear that Albus Dumbledore has in fact died. It's very unlikely that he will turn out to be still alive.

Cedric is really dead. Another who is really dead is Moaning Myrtle, as well as the rest of the ghosts. Dumbledore has the 'chance' of reappearing as a ghost, or via his portrait like Phineus Nigellus. Many misleading quotes and statement have come from Ms Rowling or been attributed to her (and I'm not referring to that notorious Onion business... That curtain is rather strange, as there has been no real indication of what the heck it is.

Yes, the fact that Dumbledore is "really dead" is one thing I was hoping to hear, but my fellow FunTrivia friend seems to think that Sirius Black is still alive - is there any proof that he is indeed dead? Because I am trying to find proof to show her....

This is actually an interesting take on Dumbledore's death: "All these clues seem to suggest that if Dumbledore really did die, he has the ability to be reborn out of the ashes of his death, either under his own power, or with the help of the healing powers of Fawkes. Besides, even if Dumbledore's body was there when it erupted into flame, we know that doesn't mean anything to a wizard!"
