How does the manufacturer manage to print the little m's on M&M's candy?

    Question #6965. Asked by m. (Oct 14 00 11:29 AM)

    McGruff

'The M&M people say that the candies are placed in trays. As the trays pass by, an overhead wheel with M's printed all over it gently stamps the letters on the thin candy shells so as not to crack them. It works like an offset printer.' http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/library/ff_food01.htm
