Levi Strauss Co. is the world's biggest brand-named clothing manufacturer, and sells under the Levis, Dockers, and Slates brands. The company's sales totaled $6 billion at the end of November, 1999. Their Dockers was launched in the USA in 1986 and by the early 1990s had become the fastest-growing sub-brand in US history, with the highest level of brand awareness of any casual trousers. After a $10-million promotion campaign, Dockers were the best-selling brand in the casual wear market.
