    Who is the main character in J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Silmarillion"?

    		The main character is the Dark Lord, Melkor, known to his enemies as Morgoth. A whole range of different people are fighting against him, but no one of them could really be described as "main".

    		"The Silmarillion" is not a novel; rather, it is a history of Middle Earth. There is no main character or single theme here, but a collection of legends and records of the elder days.
