    That would be Alexander Gardner, whose work has been misattributed to Matthew Brady. He took a last photograph of Abraham Lincoln:

    Yes! His split from Matthew Brady was due to Brady's taking credit for all his employee's work. He also took photos of the conspirators in Lincoln's assassination.
