The only thing I'm finding is from 2003 saying we could be hit in 2014.
Scientists are warning that an asteroid about 1.2 kilometres wide could hit earth on March 21, 2014 - classifying the situation as "an event meriting careful monitoring".
But they say the probability of the asteroid hitting Earth is just 1 in 909,000 and the risk of impact is likely to decrease as they collect more information

Information on Selected Near Earth Objects
This list shows selected near Earth objects (NEO's) with close approaches to Earth in the past and predicted to the year 2100, as well as other NEO's of interest. The probability of any of these objects hitting the Earth on these approaches is essentially zero. There are no known NEO's on a collision course with the Earth. There is a possibility that an as yet undiscovered large NEO may hit the Earth, but the probability of this happening over the next 100 years is extremely small.

Attack? Asteroids, bless their pointy little surfaces, do not have the consciousness to mount an attack. If we get hit by one, it will be an act of Nature/God/Cosmic fate -- take your pick, depending on your persuasion.

It's probably in the links, but although the vast majority of neo's miss by a long way, the vast majority of the very small percentage that head for earth burn up before arrival and only leave small fragments at most of their existence.
The chances of a big one both being even close to earth and then hitting it (as it would be too big to totally disintegrate as it passes through the atmosphere) are, as Brainyblonde said, almost zero and tend to be used either to fill in gaps in the TV news or form new religions.
