The White House has been known to issue them. An artist more well known for his current location than his works utilizes them for paint, and one interesting tidbit about them is their ability to change colour to adapt to seasonal conditions. What are they, who is the artist, and how specifically do they connect to once promoting cancer?

Actually, the cancer connection wasn't what I had in mind, but you get an extra Golden Whatzit for adding your bit. Red M&M's were eliminated in the mid 70's due to the health concerns about the red dye amaranth, (a cancer promoting carcinogen).
