No precedent on this. Mary I was succeeded by her sister, Mary II left William III on the throne, Anne outlived her husband and wasn't succeeded by a child of hers, and Albert died before Victoria. It is unlikely, though. The Queen Mother title is unusual, and serves to distinguish between two living queens, one a previous consort and the other reigning. The Dook would still be the Dook. The term Queen Mother is a title often held by the mother of a reigning monarch.
