When this classic film was re-released in the early 1990s, an important scene originally removed from it was restored, but without the audio, which was missing. One of the actors involved was able to re-record his dialogue, but the other was dead, so a third well-known actor was asked to mimic his voice. What is this film, who were the two actors in this scene, and who dubbed the famous dead man?

And the silver mace to you, McG. Evidently, Hopkins is a talented mimic and had been Olivier's protege early in his career, so he was a natural for this task. Tony Curtis, it seems, was 66 years old when he re-recorded his part. It must have been rather an interesting experience for him.
