Has a wolf ever run in the Iditarod?

    Question #70674. Asked by arctic_wolves. (Sep 12 06 5:36 PM)

A dog called Wolf died in the race in 2004 http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=5069
in 1925 if reports I've read are correct, a half-wolf named Balto ran, but as this story has been made into a cartoon, I'm not too sure about the accuracy. But most stories about half-wolves in the Iditarod are just that - stories. I've not found a reference to a full wolf running.
