The Stig can be anyone, that's the beauty of him/her. A number of different people have filled in for stunts or special cars (Renault F1, Maserati MC12). The main track driver was Perry McCarthy until he went public, that's when they killed him off with the XJS aircraft carrier stunt. There have been strong rumours that Julian Bailey has been Stig in the past. The main Stig now is (allegedly) Ben Collins, a top all round racer, ideal for the test track sequences. The first Stig (Black Stig) has its own website, the second seem to be a number of guys (there's a height difference), but I wouldn't mind driving like any of them, or to be a part of TopGear's crew and have my way with those cars!
