    This man was rumored to have become president of a college believing it would move to another town. After it didn't, he abandoned the school and took some students and part of the library to become the first president of another college. This is now said to be false. Who was the man and what are the two colleges involved?

    		You are referring to Zephaniah Swift Moore, who turned his back on Williams College for Amherst.

    Six of one, half a dozen of the other, if you ask me. Though Williams does have a great Art History department. ;)
