1997 : Bolton Wanderers
1998 : Reading
1999 : Wigan Athletic

* Charlton Athletic were at The Valley from 1924 to 1985. They moved to Selhurst Park (ground share with Crystal Palace) for 6 years to 1991, when they moved to Upton Park for a year (ground share with West Ham United). When they returned to The Valley after 7 years the entire stadium had been rebuilt (ground capacity in 2006 was 27,113). In the late 1960s the stated capacity of the "old" The Valley was 73,500 (3,000 seated).
