Why is the Quaking Aspen described as the "largest plant in America" in the 'Wonders of America' stamp series, as many plants seem to be larger? http://www.usps.com/communications/news/stamps/2006/images/hr/wonders/WofA39_sht_BGv2.jpg

The plant known as Pando is a quaking aspen, but it is not a single tree. It is a collection of trees all joined together by the roots and reckoned to be a single organism. At 6,000 tonnes, it is the biggest plant.

What Gnomon says is indeed fact. And don't try chopping down a quaking aspen in your yard without killing it with vegetation killer first, or you'll have thousands of its clones erupting throughout your yard!
