The international licence plate code for the US is USA. Is this also the code used in dependent areas like Puerto Rico, American Samoa, US Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands and Guam?

As I can't find anything else, yes. Actually, how many vehicles from those places are going to run anywhere else anyway? The international plate is only needed when a vehicle is outside its registering country. (It used to be the thing in the UK to put GB plates on cars to make people think the owners went abroad. That was before taking holidays in places too far to take the car to became fashionable.)

To Baloo55th: I suppose there are ferries from all of these islands, so it should be possible for cars to go abroad. I think you´re right, though. I have seen some internet sites suggesting that Puerto Rico has its own code (PR). I have also seen a possible code for Guam (GM) and Northern Mariana Islands (NMI), but I doubt if this is very official.
