    A certain 16th century Polish king ruled for over forty years and had an unusual nickname. Who was he, and how did he get his nickname?

    		Well, there was Sigismund I the Old, who is the only Polish king of the 16th century who seems to qualify in terms of length of reign. He became king in 1506 at 39 and lived to be 81 -- quite an advanced age for the period.

    		Yes, it was Sigismund the Old. I think there are better nicknames, but there are also worse...
