Agnes of Glasgow (1760-1780) followed her lover, who was in the British Army during the American Revolution, across the ocean and through the wilderness to Camden, South Carolina. She died before she could find her lover, and her ghost is said to walk the streets in her continuing search for him. She was buried in the Old Quaker Cemetery by King Haigler and his men.
