This is a complete list of the passengers. There is no Rose Dawson.

No, Rose Dawson was not an actual person. Her family/entourage represented a typical wealthly family of that era.

She wasn't Rose Dawson in the movie, though. She was Rose DeWitt Bukater, who also wasn't on the ship.

In the aftermath of the hysteria over the "Titanic" film, there was a rather interesting intersection with real life. "Jack Dawson" and "Rose Bukater" were fictional characters (I had some trouble convincing my freshman Art History students of this); but there was, in fact, a "J.Dawson," buried in the Titanic graveyard in Halifax. He was a crew member, and his first name was James.

After the film was released, his modest Halifax gravestone, reading "J. Dawson", was inundated with flowers and messages. Apparently, it still is.

I am going to give you two nouns. The first word I give you is "Illyria". Illyria is a place of minsinterpreted love and occasional comedy. The next word I give you is "rose". A rose is often depicted as beautiful and becoming, though the thorns they bear are sharp and harmful. And, of course, no matter what you call a rose, it will still smell the same. The bond between these two nouns is that William Shakespeare chose to write about it. Can you tell me one play that features Illyria, a made up place, and another that has a short line of how a rose is sweet, no matter what the name?
