Your lens would certainly be a huge consideration. Another would be filters and film. Bottom line is that it is totally dependent upon what YOU want your finished product to look like.
landscape photography generally uses wide angle lenses, panorama cameras
wildlife -- telephoto lens
portraits -- some form of zoom and filters

I have an Olympus Om1 with a 35/70 zoom, 75/250 Zoom, and 2x converter. I mainly take Steam Trains, but in my local Deer Park (Bradgate, Leicester) I tend to use the 75/250, it's good for spiders & butterflies as well.

Get a good tripod and a remote shutter release . All of the accessories (and the photographer,as well) will perform much better with increased stability. Zoom and telephoto lenses especially benefit- camera shake is more pronounced at longer focal lengths. The tripod practically eliminates the problem and the remote release picks up where the tripod left off.

Don't forget the tripod, vital for both long exposure (1/60 sec and more) and long lens use. The longer the lens the more the shake is magnified and when mainly taking landscapes it's an essential asset for anything more demanding than usual.

I see we both had the same idea at the same time, both posted together.

Always have a UV filter on the lens, except when
you need to eliminate glare from a bright sky or
water, then use a polarizer filter. A circular polarizer if you have an Autofocus camera. If you want
to shoot rainbows though, take off the polarizer! It
would make the rainbows(polarized light) vanish.

I was convinced I'd answered this one - my post seems to have vanished along with some other people's comments.
