Would the fighting in and around Sabastopl during World War II be classified as a battle or a Seige? I have found it said both ways.

It is called the BATTLE of Sevastopol...although it was a bit of a siege.
The Battle of Sevastopol was fought from October 30, 1941 to July 4, 1942 between German forces and the USSR over the main Soviet naval base on the Black Sea during World War II.
