    Is it true that Anastasia Romanov was saved by the jewlery underneath her clothing the day they were getting "a family picture" a.k.a. being shot to death?

    		She was allegedly bayonetted many times.

    The place of her burial is unknown.

    There were several cases of people claiming to be the lost Tsarina, but no tangible proof was discovered.

    		I strongly recommend a very useful reference mentioned on zbeck's site, Robert K. Massie's "The Romanovs: The Final Chapter" (New York: Random House), 1995. (Massie is also the author of "Nicholas and Alexandra.") It details both the murders and the DNA tests that refuted Anna Anderson's claims to be Anastasia.
