What is the name of the film that won the Academy Award for Animated Short Film in 1943? Who was its star and who did it mock?

    Question #73949. Asked by skysmom65. (Dec 30 06 11:03 PM)

The answer depends on whether you take the date (1943) from www.imdb.com or from the official Oscar website, www.oscars.org

From imdb it is "Der Fuehrer's Face" starring Donald Duck and mocking Adolf Hitler.

From oscars.org it is "Yankee Doodle Mouse" starring Tom and Jerry, and not really mocking anyone as it is a celebration (though a zany one) of the American soldier.

The discrepancy arises as imdb.com lists the awards by the date of the the ceremony, whilst oscars.org lists by the date of release.

Spanish, I was looking for 'Der Fuehrer's Face' I discovered the discrepancy after asking the question...kudos to you for being thourough with the answer as I should have been when asking it!

Below is what I had originally read:
Der Fuehrer's Face is a 1942 animated cartoon by Walt Disney Studios starring Donald Duck, as well as a song from that short. Both mock Adolf Hitler.
It was directed by Jack Kinney and released on January 1, 1943 as an anti-Nazi propaganda piece for the American war effort. It won the 1943 Academy Award for Animated Short Film.
