A European country, already in a dispute with another nation over the second's use of a certain name, is now outraged because that second country wants to re-christen a transportation hub after someone whom the first country claims as its very own hero. What are these two countries, and about whom are they arguing?

Question #74163. Asked by lanfranco. (Jan 04 07 5:20 PM)

Sounds like Greece and (the former Yugoslav republic of) Macedonia. And it sounds like the Macedonians want to name Skopje Airport after Alexander.

It was considered a puzzle by wry females of a certain European country during the Reformation era, to ensure fidelity, or at least hamper their partners into thinking quick. Yet, another European country featured a similar technique, yet ironically the design is formulated to 'unravel' easily. What is it, which two countries are involved and which third European country utilizes the opposite procedure of usage, except for one region?

My raison d’etre was to stand guard; I eventually "failed", yet I'm still a sentinel. Tourists from one country named me after a hero from a different country altogether, a hero who has nothing to do with my country. This name is how people from most other countries know me still. After some personal upheaval, but during a period of relative peace throughout my land, I found myself singing each morning when the sun came up. My paeans ended eventually, and so did the peace. I am?

Traditionally one country prepares this dish on Christmas Eve, whilst another country claims to have a different recipe for each day of the year. What is it, what nick-name does one country have for it, and in which other country might it be served at a bar with beer?
