I heard recently about people freezing to death in a remote area of Mexico, anyone got a link?

I can find references to similar things in the late 90s, too. Mexico can get freezing weather in parts. Acapulco won't, but some of the mountain areas will get fairly low temperatures quite often in winter. Chihuahua this week has temperatures down to 2C (35F) listed. That's at the University - out in the hills it'll get well below that.

Thanks I didn't realize how uncommon freezing in the desert is. Part of what prompted the question was the 70 degree temps. we have had in New York in January
