    Rumor has it that a Swiss geology professor has mounted an expedition to Patagonia and invited members of a Swiss rock climbing club to climb up a cliff and collect rock samples for him! Is this true? Where can one read about it?

    That should be Dr Nils Otto Gustaf Nordenskiöld (also spelled Nordenskjöld) (December 6, 1869-1928) was a Swedish geologist, geographer, and polar explorer.
