What is the difference between an LCD and a Plasma TV screen?

    Question #75093. Asked by star_gazer. (Jan 28 07 5:29 AM)

Simply on the materials, LCD is using liquid crystals, which is a display method many years old and refined to the point of being suitable for TV, whereas plasma screens are a lot more recent and I would presume use gas plasma to display the colours.
There's no definitive preference but the experts say LCDs still can produce the better quality but they keep improving both.
