Considered a mythical tale, it has been suggested his name conotates something rather miniscule yet some believe his tread was responsible for creating large bodies of water. A certain gorge was established, apparently, by him him strolling by. Who was he, which three geographical features was he 'responsible' for, and why is it safe to say his birth was heavily laboured?

This sounds like Paul Bunyan, who in myth created the 10,000 lakes of Minnesota with his steps and also the Grand Canyon and Mount Hood. It took 17 storks (whew!) to deliver him to his parents, and he may have been conflated with a French Canadian character called "Ti-jean," a quite little person:

Yup. It is. Inspired by that blue cow question the other day, and coincidently reminds me of the Monty Python melody 'I'm a Lumberjack and I'm Ok'...something about wimmin's underwear.....
