New to the market, this has been developed by an entrepreneur who noticed wastage of a certain dairy product in his home country. By combining it with a certain flower he has found himself a niche with a product that looks like one thing but tastes like another. What is the name of the product?

Question #75831. Asked by wendypj. (Feb 13 07 6:56 PM)

I'm guessing the flower is hops. I was guessing the dairy product was whey, but can't connect them. Whey is usually considered a by-product, I think.

The flower is indeed hops. Maybe I should clarify that the wastage refers to 'unused excess' rather than a waste product..........

O.K., I, too, came to the conclusion that hops might be the "flower," so I think you must be talking about Japanese Bilk -- a beer made from milk:

    Aha.

Not being a drinker, I can now understand what the advertisement that I pass every day on the way to work means when it talks about 'MOO BREW'.

Congratulations Frankie and a golden cow to you! Sounds absolutely revolting doesn't it but the Japanese do tend to be at the forefront of innovation so maybe we will all be drinking bilk in the future. Ugh!
