    Who wrote the song "I wish I was in Dixie Land"?

    		I think this is the song you're looking for.

    "Dixie" was written by Daniel Decatur Emmett of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and premiered in September of 1859 in New York.

    		Thanks, I just wonder the singer claims to have been born in Dixie on a "frosty morn" hence he couldn't of been born to far South because it doesn't get "frosty" in South Alabama.
