    		I'd say it's Steve Fossett.

    Richard Branson made attempts, usually being able to cover only oceans at a time. His first world-round flight was in 1999, later that Fossett's.

    I can't even find John Michelson on Google, I highly doubt he'd be the first around the world with no stops and be hard to find at the same time.
