not a hope. 1, theres no air for the tree to breath.
2 it would get ripped to shreds by gamma & UV rays
3 the soil is most likely too radioactive from the solar winds anyway

The soils can (and have) been sampled. If one could build some sort of greenhouse on the moon with pressurised air, it might be able to support the likes of a tree.
Such technology is already being planned for use as a way of recycling oxygen on Mars. They won't be planting trees on the Red Planet anytime soon, but they might easily try sending up some form of plants with faster metabolisms to try and get it producing oxygen for astronauts to breathe within a small space station.
