    		Daughtry is an American platinum-selling rock band from North Carolina, formed by former American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry in 2006. Their self-titled debut album was released on November 21, 2006. The disc has proceeded to hit #1 on the Billboard 200, outsell Idol winner Taylor Hicks's debut effort, sell over a million units, and become the fastest selling debut rock album in Soundscan history.
