I dunno, I don't think it's them who're helping him out...I think it's him who's helping them. He may not have won but it was a blessing in disguise for him. He was able to make the album HE wanted to instead of being under contract with the show's people and having them control what kind of album he put out. The album reached #1 on iTunes after the release. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 behind Jay-Z's Kingdom Come. It sold approximately 304,000 copies in its first week, making it the second highest first week sales of any idol who didn't win the competition. The highest first week sales of any idol to date is Clay Aiken's Measure of a Man, which sold over 613,000 copies in its first week of release. It also nearly beat the first week sales of Carrie Underwood, whose CD Some Hearts sold 315,000 copies in its first week of release. I doubt any of those things would have happened if he had won.
