    I got a behind-the-scenes suggestion that the answer is "a pyramid."

    Focus on "Europe" and "church." And note that the announcement of this discovery has just been made, so checking recent news reports will help.

    Ooooh, this simply must be the Byzantine icon of St. John the Baptist, that was covered by silver sheet in Kranidi.
