There is a story that the ballet term "tutu" is a children's alteration of cucu the diminutive of French cul for buttocks. But any child invents neologisms especially onomatopeic ones. Very often they are reduplications e.g. "chook chook" for chicken.

When I was just ten, I invented the Hebrew word "r'vavit" meaning 1/10,000 (literally, a "myriadth").
