    Rauf Raif Denktaº (in English often spelled Rauf Denktash) (born January 27, 1924) is the founder of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, a de facto state which is only recognized by Turkey. He was the first President of the TRNC and has served four five-year terms in that office.
