We have not discovered any aliens. There could be but as of now, none are known. That doesn't mean that scientists don't look for them.

If there are no life forms as you or I know it on any other planets, surely bacteria might exist on some planets. Currently, scientists are examining the possibility of the existence of bacterial life forms on Mars.

Outer space - probably not. Conditions are too extreme. On planets around other stars - very likely. Given the billions of stars, very many of which would seem to have planets, the chances of this being the only one to evolve life are very small indeed. What the life-forms look like, now that's another matter. Forget Planet of the Apes, and anything with tall busty blonde aliens. There might be intelligent species out there, there may not. Finding them is not easy. Finding the planets is not easy, in fact. They can't see them - they detect them by effects on the movement of the star. No way can we train a telescope on them and see any life.
