Ask Arpeggionist in an E Mail for a detailed answer. Maybe.

This is, of course, a matter of taste and opinion; experts do not and never will agree.
Rather than stop at one "legato," a limited subject, I'll pick "Esclarmonde" in Massenet's opera, on the site below. Another possibility for the most difficult coloratura role would be "The Queen of Night" in Mozart's "The Magic Flute."
Quite a few people would offer other roles and even individual arias and passages.

I'm working on it. So far I think it's the role of Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss' "Adriana auf Naxus". Otherwise, I'm thinking a few bars of my own opera, "Rip van Winkle" in which the character of Judith (Rip's daughter) sings a quiet but high aria titled "And he went up into the hills..."

Though, I must add, as of this day no soprano has ever sung my aria in public. Hopefully that will change within the next few months.

Will you provide us with a video, Arpeggionist?
I hope so.
