    Apuleius is to have said he recieved his philosophical and mathematical wisdom from the Babylonian disciples of Zoroaster.

    Well, Apuleius' "Metamorphoses" AKA 'The Golden Ass' does state that Pythagoras learned number lore from the Egyptians.
