    Now, I don't watch "American Idol," but on the morning news yesterday, I was rather startled to see French-Canadian singer Celine Dion performing with the long-dead Elvis Presley. (He is dead, isn't he?) Who would like to tell me how this interesting event was accomplished?

    		"Celine Dion was performing next to the Elvis impersonator Ryan Pelton from the Legends show in Las Vegas singing. This is what the live audience saw, for TV she was performing along side Elvis. For the close-ups they used the real Elvis."

    		Well, let's be blunt: at no point was Celine Dion actually performing alongside Elvis. He is, indeed, dead.

    		Elvis's performance was from an old videotape that was didgitally enhanced and then Elvis' image was "extracted" and digitally placed on the American Idol Footage. Celine Dion was acting as if she was interacting with this "virtual" Elvis, but she was really looking at nothing and signing along with the song with parts of Elvis' vocals removed and Celine sang those parts.
