What should people do when you see high water on the road ahead while driving?

Slow down. You do not want to hydroplane (actually driving on the water losing all traction) out of control. Also, the water could be deep enough to damage and/or disturb your engine and interior of your car. Always approach standing water with caution, and assess the situation before proceeding by approaching slowly, stopping, and getting out of the vehicle if necessary.

Slow down and be prepared to stop in case water is deep. Even diesels can get flooded.
