    		Not counting Homo sapiens, then it would be the group of blood sucking flies known as mosquitoes- responsible for the transmission of malaria, yellow fever and other diseases in many parts of the world

    		The common mosquito has been responsible for more human deaths than any other species of animal. It can carry all sorts of deadly diseases from malaria to lassa fever (that it hasn't been carrying HIV is a miracle, so far), and it spreads them all very quickly. In fact, the mosquito is so dangerous that in the Talmud it is the first named of five species of pest that one is permitted to kill on the Sabbath (known as "z'vuv Mitzrayim" or "the Egyptian fly").
