I saw a show on the food network about different candy factories around the US and I think they said peppermint candies were the most popular, or maybe they were the most produced, although I could be mistaken.

According to this other trivia site, for Halloween 2004 the most popular candy was candy corn.
"Chocolate" is Mick Garris' story that follows a man who has visions taking him behind the eyes of a woman he doesn't know. When the sensations lead to obsession, Jamie must find the woman he sees every time he tastes chocolate. Good luck!
